Academic credit for military service is granted for Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) and Service Schools in accordance with the American Council on Education guidebook. Veterans interested in claiming academic credit through this program should notify the Coordinator of Graduation and Transcript Services.
- Military service credits are evaluated after satisfactory completion of one semester or six (6) credit hours at KCKCC.
- Applicants wanting military service credit must be approved by the Coordinator of Graduation and Transcript Services, be currently enrolled in classes at KCKCC.
- Academic credit is posted on transcripts according to the American Council on Education guidebook. It is used as elective credit hours toward graduation. The notation on the transcript reads: Credit granted for military service. A CR grade is recorded on the transcript.
- Students can accumulate a maximum of 15 credit hours for military service credit.
- A flat fee of $25.00 is charged to post credits to the KCKCC transcript.6)For posting to the KCKCC transcript, the student must:
- Pay a $25 fee.
- Have completed a minimum of 6 credit hours at KCKCC.
- Be currently enrolled and satisfactorily complete the semester of posting.
