Learning Services is located on the lower level of the Learning Commons and is home to free Individual Content Area Tutoring (CAT), Math & Science Center and Writing Center & Digital Access Studio. Services are available in person at all KCKCC locations and online. Learning Services also provides student athlete academic support through customized training sessions and study hall. The mission of Learning Services is to design academic programming and learning environments that cultivate a community of engaged learners.

 Learning Services provides the following services:

 Tutoring by walk-in and appointment, face-to-face or virtual

  • Guided study sessions
  • Excelling in math workshops
  • Online writing consultation via email
  • Supplemental Instruction
  • Workshops

Math & Science Tutoring Center

Room 1L15, Lower Level-Learning Commons

The Math and Science Center provides walk-in tutoring for math and science and supports success through a shared learning space and individualized approaches to tutoring. Peer and faculty tutors engage with students to improve self-confidence and skills in the fields of math and science. Services are available at all campus locations, by appointment.

Writing Center & Digital Access Studio

Lower Level-Learning Commons

In the Writing Center, faculty and peer tutors work with students on essays, speeches, and academic projects, including technical writing and presentations. In addition to topics addressed in humanities and social sciences courses, students can find tutors and resources for ESOL, freshman seminar, and foreign language courses. 

The Digital Access Studio (DAS) was established to provide space for students to explore and engage in creative communication through digital multimedia. Students have access to advanced equipment, space for collaboration, practice, and inquiry. Located within the Digital Access Studio, the One Button Recording Studio. The One Button Recording Studio is a fully functioning recording studio with green screen technology.

Library Service

Library Services offers academic research assistance. Books, reference materials, and videos are available in both physical and digital formats. In the library you will find computers, interlibrary loan services, anatomy models, the KCKCC Archives, and other resources to support learning and leisure reading-including librarians to assist in research and information literacy. The library hosts LibGuides, a web-based content management system to assist the campus community, including the option to live chat. The mission of the Library is to enrich the academic community by providing exceptional resources and services.

  • Headphones for use in the Learning Commons
  • Kindles for check-out
  • Test proctoring
