- Consult a physician before beginning any exercise program.
- Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids before, during and after exercies.
- Eat at least 15 minutes before exercies. Bodies need fuel to provide energy during workouts.
- If any physical problems develop (nausea, sizziness, chest pain, feel faint, shortness of breath), stop exercise immediately and seek the WFC staff.
- Perform a 5-10 minute warm up to improve cuculation and warm-up muscles before the workout.
- Perform a 5-10 minute cool down to allow the heart rate to return to resting level.
- Use the Target Heart Rate (THR) Zone formula to find the best intensity range to workout in. Do not exceed THR Zone. WFC saff can help determine THR Zone.
- Ask WFC staff for help with unfamiliar equipment or assistance with weights.
- Let the WFC staff know if there has been a change in health status or new medications.
