Enrollment for Membership

The Wellness and Fitness Center (WFC) membership is open to any person who is 18 years of age and eligible to enroll. You must be enrolled in a WFC class to gain access to the fitness center.

  • Enrollment for WFC class is through the various college enrollment processes or directly at the fitness center.
  • There is a minimum of 20 workout hours that have to be completed inside the WFC in order to pass the course. This is a one-credit-hour course that can be retaken each semester.
  • There are different categories of membership.
  • Enrollment fees can be paid for through financial aid, scholarships and grants, or out of pocket.

KCKCC Student ID

All members are required to bring their KCKCC student ID every time working out at the WFC.

  • Student IDs are issued in the Admissions Office, upper-level Jewell Building, room 3307, or call 913-288-7600.
  • A current government issued photo ID is required to receive a student ID.

Orientation and Fitness Screening

All new members enrolled in the WFC are required to complete the Consent and Release form and have their heart rate and blood pressure taken. Males over the age of 45, females over the age of 55, or those with medical issues, need to bring a doctor’s release in order to exercise. Following the fitness screening and the classroom part of the orientation, members are given a tour of the facility.

  • Orientations are scheduled at the facility front desk.
  • Doctors’ consent forms can be mailed, hand-delivered, or faxed to the WFC.

Parking

Parking permits are free of charge for members enrolled in a fitness class. Parking is available in front of the WFC, the Continuing Education Building lot and the Child Care lot. Parking is not permitted in the parking lot behind the credit union (they do tow cars).

  • Parking permits are issued in the Admissions Office, upper-level Jewell Building, room 3307.
  • Parking permits must be displayed on a visible location to avoid a possible violation.
  • Issues related to parking are handled in the Campus Police, room 3462 or call 913-288-7636.
