Summer 2020
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, KCKCC is changing the course delivery mode and schedule for many of our summer classes. Our foremost goal is to keep our students and employees safe while providing the best educational opportunities possible during this time. For Summer 2020, classes that were originally offered in a face-to-face format will now be offered in one of the following three formats:
- If the class is a lecture class with NO laboratory component, it will be offered 100% online. All currently scheduled ground classes, that do not have a lab, will be changed to an online delivery.
- For most classes that DO have a laboratory component, such as Biology 121 or most Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses offered at the Technical Education Center (TEC), the lecture portion of the class will be offered online. Beginning June 29, the lab portion of the class will be offered in a face-to-face format on campus. During this face-to-face component, social distancing and other mitigation efforts will be required.
- If you are enrolled in CHEM 0112 (College Chemistry II + Lab), CHEM 0213 (Organic Chemistry I Lab), or PMED 0260 (Paramedic Concepts), the lecture portion of the class will be offered online, and the lab portion will be offered in a face-to-face format on campus beginning June 8. During this face-to-face component, social distancing and other mitigation efforts will be required.

Dual Credit Courses
Dual Enrollment Classes taught by KCKCC instructors at area high schools will be offered in an on-line format for the remainder of the semester. Instructors will communicate with students regarding expectations for completing course materials. Please contact me with information about when your high school will resume classes.
Concurrent Credit Courses
The format of these courses will be based on the format of the individual high school. If the high school is open, the faculty will teach the course face-to-face. Should the high school move to a virtual platform, then the concurrent course will move to a virtual platform. Please contact me with information about when your high school will resume classes.

Withdrawing From Class
In an effort to provide students with greater flexibility as KCKCC adjusts to remote instruction and students deal with the potential impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are extending the last day to withdraw from classes (without a refund) to May 11, 2020. Withdrawals will not be allowed after this date.
Before you make the decision to withdraw from a course please consider the following:
- Discuss the situation with your instructor.
- If you are receiving financial aid, and you are considering withdrawing from a class or withdrawing altogether for the remainder of the semester, please keep in mind that this decision could impact future financial-aid eligibility. If you have questions about your financial aid, or about the impact dropping courses or withdrawing completely may have on your aid, please email finaid@kckcc.edu.
- Reach out to your Student Success Advisor and/or Program Coordinator.
- High School students should contact their High School Counselor to withdraw.
- International students should visit with the International Student Services Coordinator.
- Students with military benefits should contact the Military Veteran Center
Should you decide a withdraw is necessary, you must complete the Student Withdrawal Form found on WebAdvisor.
We know this semester has been challenging, and we want you to know that we are here for you.
