Transitioning from military life to higher education can present the Veteran with a set of challenges that may be similar to other students but are also unique for each student Veteran. In addition to the services and assistance student Veterans and military affiliated students can receive from the Military & Veteran Student Services on campus, student Veterans on campus decided to create the Student Veterans Organization to also assist with Veterans needs while going through the higher education experience.

The purpose of the Student Veterans Organization is to foster camaraderie between veterans, service members, spouse/dependents and supporters attending Kansas City Kansas Community College, encourage academic success, demonstrate leadership skills, ensure that veterans and service members are aware of all available resources and to empower and support military-connected students to be successful in their endeavors to improve themselves through higher education at Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Membership is open to all students, dependents and those who have a desire to be a member. If you are interested in becoming an organization member stop by the Veterans Center located in Lower Jewel or contact Wade Abel at military@kckcc.edu or 913-288-7592.
