- Participants are required to be currently enrolled in one of our Exercise Science activity classes (EXSC 148, 149, 152,153, 206) in order to use the KCKCC Wellness & Fitness Center (WFC) facility.
- All participants are responsible to be familiar and comply with the policies and guidelines of the WFC. Contact a WFC professional staff member for any issues related to policy or guideline interpretation or enforcement.
- Participants must be18 years of age or older to exercise in the WFC. High Schooled aged students can be dual enrolled in the Wellness & Fitness Center class. Children and infants are not allowed in the facility at any time.
- Participants are required to have a current KCKCC Student ID card to workout. Driver's Licenses are unacceptable. Student ID cards are free of charge and are issued through the Admissions Office. Contact them at 913-288-7600 for times and availability.
- Participants are required to “Sign In” and “Sign Out” at the front desk during each workout visit to the WFC in order to get credit for that workout. Participants that leave the facility for any reason are considered to have finished their workout and will be “Signed Out”.
- Participants are required to put forth an effort to exercise during each workout visit. Loitering will not be tolerated. Workouts are to be completed inside the WFC.
- Participants are required to complete a minimum of 20 workout hours inside the WFC each semester. Workouts completed outside of the WFC will not be added towards your total time. You will not be allowed to exercise outside the WFC facility until the 20 hour requirement is met.
- Participants are expected to demonstrate appropriate behavior at all times. Engaging in boisterous, threatening, intimidating or abusive conduct is prohibited. In addition, failure to show full cooperation to a WFC professional staff member is prohibited. Kansas City Kansas Community College reserves the right to remove, or have removed, any person(s) due to abusive conduct or a non-cooperative attitude.
- Participants should immediately report any medical or non-medical emergencies, criminal activity, lost or abandoned items to a WFC professional employee. The Campus Police Department will then be notified for further action.
- Participants are allowed one (1) guests per semester. Guests are allowed one (1) visit per semester. All guests are required to complete a consent and release form prior to exercise and must be accompanied by the sponsoring member during the workout visit. Guests must be 18 years of age or older with a valid form of ID to participate.
- Participants are encouraged to use a workout towel while exercising. Towel service is available at the front desk at no charge.
- Participants are discouraged from applying perfume or cologne before exercising in the facility.
- Participants are encouraged to observe proper personal hygiene by showering regularly, wearing clean clothing and using deodorant.
- Participants are required to wear proper workout attire while exercising. The WFC professional staff reserves the right to determine what appropriate workout attire is.
- Indoor athletic style of shoes only. No acceptations. Shoes should be clean and dry before using the fitness equipment.
- Full length T-shirt or tank tops only. Sports bras must be worn with an appropriate shirt. Plastic or rubber suits are unacceptable and not allowed.
- Jeans, jean shorts and excessively loose fitting clothing are discouraged.
- Alcohol, smoking, tobacco products, and illicit drugs are prohibited on campus. Participants under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be asked to leave the facility.
- Absolutely no WFC equipment will be loaned out or borrowed at any time.
- All personal items should be stored in a locker. Participants are responsible for having their own lock. Absolutely no gym bags are allowed in workout areas. Lockers are available for “Day Use Only” during workout periods. They cannot be used for overnight storage. Failure to do so within 48 hours will result in your lock and locker contents being removed by the Campus Police Department.
- The WFC will not be liable to any participant or other person for personal property of either inherent worth or sentimental value that is either lost or abandoned in the facility. Personal property not in the custody of the participant and unsecured is considered to be lost or abandoned. Personal property left in the facility overnight, either secured or unsecured, is considered to be lost or abandoned upon discovery. Any property lost or abandoned on the premises will be turned over to the Campus Police Department. WFC employees are not responsible for any participants personal items held at the front desk.
- Please refrain from using cell phones in any area of the facility except in the front desk lobby area. These devices should be kept on 'vibrate' or a very quiet ring. Conversations should be kept brief and as quiet as possible
- No personal photography or video of any kind is permitted to take place inside the WFC facility without prior approval of a WFC professional staff member.
- No pets are allowed in the WFC facility at any time. (Service animals are excluded) are not allowed in the facility at any time.
- No personal exercise/sporting good equipment will be allowed in the WFC for use or storage. (Heart rate monitors & yoga mats are excluded)
- Please ask a WFC employee for assistance regarding the selection of the television stations. Stations can be changed upon request only from the front desk area.
- Headphones are required on all portable electronic devices.
- Any other restrictions established by the College to ensure the safety of all participants and the proper treatment of the facility.
- Incomplete grades will not be given for any WFC classes except for medical reasons. A written letter from your physician is required.
