Emergencies

KCKCC does not have a physician on site and the Student Health Services does not provide emergency care.

For all emergencies, call the KCKCC Police Department at 913-288-7636.

Mission

Student Health Services is committed to providing individuals with the information they need to become informed healthcare consumers. The goal is to enhance efficiency and productivity by addressing the mental and physical healthcare needs of KCKCC and our community. Healthcare information is offered that considers each person's holistic needs, including physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual aspects.

Services Provided

Students must complete the consent to treatment form indicating their consent to receive treatment from the Student Health Service. Additionally, they indicating they understand HIPPA by completing the HIPPA practices of Student Health Service form.

Office Hours

Monday – Friday
8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
*Lunch between 12 and 1 p.m.
Walk-ins are welcome during office hours. 

Privacy and Confidentiality Practices

Confidentiality and privacy are integral to the services provided by Student Health Services. The college's FERPA and HIPPA policies protect personal and medical information. A copy of these policies is provided to clients if they desire. Clients are verbally informed that their information is confidential except in life-threatening situations. Clients are asked to sign a new form stating their understanding of the policy. Medical files are stored in locked areas and are accessible only to Student Health Services staff. All computers are password-protected. Staff is required to maintain confidentiality inside and outside of the office. All records are destroyed (shredded) after 10 years.

Clients under 18 MUST have a signed parent consent BEFORE being seen. A verbal consent via telephone, taken in the presence of at least two Student Health Service employees, is acceptable.
