Mission

The mission of Title III Programs is to ensure that federal resources are effectively and efficiently used to assist Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) in becoming self-sufficient and expanding its capacity to serve diverse student populations. The funds are provided to improve and strengthen the college’s academic quality, institutional management, fiscal stability and student service outcomes.

Program Overview

The Title III grant at KCKCC aims to strengthen the college by enhancing academic offerings, improving management, and ensuring financial stability. It funds a guided pathway advising model, providing students with clear course roadmaps to efficiently complete their degrees. The grant also offers comprehensive academic supports like tutoring, mentoring, career coaching, and developmental course redesigns. Co-requisite remediation allows students to take developmental courses alongside regular ones, ensuring they progress without delays. Career development services, such as the LightCast Career Coach, help students find careers matching their skills. The grant benefits all students, ensuring inclusive support for everyone enrolled at KCKCC.

  • Guided Pathway Advising Model: The grant will fund the design and implementation of a guided pathway advising model. This model provides students with a clear roadmap of courses and milestones, helping them efficiently complete their degrees and achieve their career goals.
  • Comprehensive Academic Supports: The program includes various academic supports such as tutoring, mentoring, career coaching, and developmental course redesigns. These supports are designed to help students succeed academically and professionally.
  • Co-Requisite Remediation: Co-requisite remediation is a key component of the program. This approach allows students to take developmental courses alongside their regular courses, providing the necessary support to succeed without delaying their progress towards a degree.
  • Career Development Services: The grant also includes career development services like the Lightcast Career Coach, which helps students find and select careers that match their education and skill set.
  • Inclusive Support for All Students: The Title III grant benefits all students enrolled at KCKCC, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic status, or national origin. This ensures that every student has access to the resources and support they need to succeed.
