Before meeting with an advisor, be sure to:
- Bring a government-issued photo ID or KCKCC student ID
- Arrive on time (Sessions are canceled if a student is more than 10 minutes late.)
- Have questions prepared to make the most of your alloted time
- Review the class schedule for the major or program of study that interest you
Student Success Advisors answer your questions - in person, virtual or over the phone.
Any student that has less than 12 credit hours completed is required to meet with an advisor to enroll.
New Students
Welcome to KCKCC! As a first-time student to KCKCC, there are a few steps to check-off before you can talk with an advisor and enroll in classes:
- Complete the college application. Students receive an email confirming they are admitted and ready to enroll in classes.
- Have high school transcripts sent to KCKCC. Advisors cannot enroll students in classes without a transcript from their high school or most recent college attended. Unofficial transcripts may be used to enroll in classes.
- Complete the placement evaluation which places students in classes that helps them meet their academic goals.
- Create a KCKCC email account. All important information is sent to a student's college email.
- Schedule an advising session.
Current Students
Welcome back, Blue Devils! To stay on academic track, each semester:
- Create a list of classes you plan on enrolling in by going to the academic catalog or class schedule.
- Use Self Service to review degree or certificate requirements and view current degree audit.
- Check for holds (i.e. tuition hold, library book hold, academic hold) on your student account. Remember, to enroll in classes all holds must be resolved.
Returning Students
Returning students are those who have attended KCKCC in the past but have not attended in a year or more.
We're happy to have you back! Here are a few simple steps to get you ready for enrollment:
- Submit an application for readmission.
- If you attended other colleges since you last attended KCKCC, submit those new college transcripts.
- Once you are readmitted to the college, schedule an advising appointment.

Academically Dismissed
