Performing Arts Center

Thank you for your interest in renting the Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC).

We would like to remind you, we are not an event company and can’t accommodate  every event need and situation. We make certain facilities and resources available to our community as a public institution and are happy to do it. Our fees are here to make sure our facilities and resources are available and maintained in excellent condition for our students.

Standard

$100.00 per hour – 3 hour minimum

Discounted

Documented Wyandotte County resident or 501c3 organization $75.00 per hour – 3 hour minimum

You will be required to have a PAC employee present at all times of access that you will be charged $15.00 per hour with a 3 hour minimum per shift in addition to the above hourly rental fee. This technician will be trained to handle sound and/or lighting – depending on your event, you may not need an additional technician.

All requirements must be requested and approved in advance.

Rental Includes

  • Use of full theatre and lobby (Lobby use is not exclusive during regular class hours)
  • use of two separate exclusive dressing rooms – each with restroom facility
  • Standard stock house sound system
  • Up to two microphones
  • Heating/air conditioning
  • Stage lighting - existing general plot
  • Free campus parking (based on availability)
  • Lobby restrooms
  • Piano. We make every attempt to keep our instrument in tune, however, if you wish us to have it tuned, you will be charged for that tuning.
  • Open WiFi
  • During non-class hours, classroom 3512 is included with the rental.

Below additional resources are available for the additional costs when pre-arranged and approved:

  • Grand Piano- $50.00 per event
  • Piano tuning - $100.00
  • Additional Microphones - $25.00 per handheld $50.00 per headset per event unless beyond 3 days (subject to availability)
  • Sound monitors - $25.00 maximum $75.00 per event
  • Risers minimum - $25.00 maximum $75.00 per event (subject to availability)
  • Projector - $25.00 per event
  • Additional classrooms may be available for additional dressing space at an additional cost of $75.00 per hour.

Staffing 

  • Audio Technician ($15.00 per hour – 3 hour minimum per shift)
  • Lighting Technician ($15.00 per hour – 3 hour minimum per shift)
  • Janitorial service - (Varies per need)
  • Security service - ($60.00 per hour) Required whenever money is handled on premises.

Request Details

Event reservation time must include all time in the facility, from the initial loading in through the final loading out by the lessee. This would include all time required for any event activities.  No access will be granted to the PAC that has not been scheduled.  Activity extending beyond the reservation time will be subject to additional billing.  Actual time in the space and staffing needs will be determined in a production meeting approximately 6 weeks before the event with the lessee and the Technical Director.  This is often done by telephone. 

An invoice based on this meeting will be submitted to the lessee for payment.

KCKCC requires a certificate of liability insurance to be furnished by the applicant in the amount of $1 million at least 30 days before the event date.

Friday events when the college is on summer hours requires an employee to control access to the rest of the building in addition to necessary technician/s

Additional classrooms for additional dressing spaces are required to be requested and will be charged at the rate of $75.00 per hour.

All reservations will include a non-refundable administration fee of $75.00

Cancellation Notice

Renters must utilize the scheduling email to cancel an event at least 30 days in advance.

All events accepted for staging in the PAC will be required to utilize KCKCC personnel to ensure safe, appropriate use of college facilities and property. Staffing needs are decided by the Technical Director at the production meeting described above. Actual time of stage use, within the reservation time, will also be determined. These costs will be included in the final pricing.
