Motorcycle Rider Courses

KCKCC offers several Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) rider courses and a rider coach preparation course.

Safety is a primary concern! Students are dismissed from the course if they present a danger to their own safety or the safety of others during any exercise or evaluation in the course. Students must have no medical conditions or mental or physical limitations that would affect their learning and safety, or the learning and safety of others. Students must not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other substance that could impair their performance in the course.

Basic MSF Rider Courses

Basic Rider Courses (BRC) are offered weekly for two-wheel and three-wheel motorcycles. These classes teach the basic skills necessary to operate a motorcycle safely.  Classes are 20 hours in length and successful completion is rewarded with a certificate of completion to obtain a motorcycle endorsement if you are a Kansas resident.

Take advantage of the many benefits of attending Basic Rider Course (BRC).

  • Eligible for insurance discounts
  • Increase confidence on a motorcycle through improved riding skills
  • Being a responsible rider
  • Receive licensing test waivers for a motorcycle endorsement
    • Non-Kansas Residents: Please check with your local DMV on endorsement qualifications.

Rider Coach Preparation Courses

A licensed and experienced rider interested in becoming a Rider Coach should attend the RCP course. Successful completion of this training earns the student a nationwide MSF Rider Coach certification and registration with the State of Kansas Department of Education, plus an employment opportunity as a future RCP instructor at KCKCC.
