Paralegals play an important role in many aspects of the legal profession, including client interviews, legal research, document preparation, and trial preparation and assistance. Widely-varied employment opportunities exist with law firms, banks, real estate offices, corporations and government agencies which recognize the capabilities and value of legal assistants. The Paralegal Program at KCKCC integrates legal theory with practical application and general education to create a balanced curriculum, enhancing student placement possibilities after graduation. Students may take only certain courses specifically to enhance their knowledge in a substantive area of law with coordinator approval or may earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS).
