The Blue Devil Institute for Teaching and Learning (ITL) supports and provides educational development opportunities rooted in evidence-based, high impact practices. The goals are to support faculty instruction, student success and retention, and achievement of student learning outcomes.

The institute's mission is to promote innovative instruction and student learning while leveraging new technologies supported by current educational development research.

Pillars

There are three pillars of the Blue Devil Institute for Teaching and Learning.

The Craft of Teaching

This pillar supports faculty with evidence-based, high impact practices that are consistent with research in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.  

Academic Discourse

This pillar supports the creation of a community of learners who engage in academically informed discourse using critical analysis on a variety of topics. 

Faculty Mentoring

This pillar supports initiatives that are designed to develop faculty across career stages, classifications and disciplines.
