Preparing for Your Advising Appointment

Please arrive on time for your advising appointment. Students who are more than ten minutes late may need to reschedule. If you know you will be late or need to cancel, please call or email ahead of time.

When you arrive to the advising office’s front desk (at any location), you will be asked to present a physical copy of your government-issued photo ID or your KCKCC Student ID. A photo ID is required at check-in so we may verify your identity and check for any holds on your student account. Check in at the advising front desk (addresses above) and present any necessary documents, listed below. We will see you soon!

New, Admitted Sudents (Without Transfer Credit)

Complete Steps 1-4 to Enroll. Complete the ACCUPLACER unless you are exempt, then schedule an appointment with a Student Success Advisor. Check to make sure your High School Transcripts, ACT/SAT Scores, prior ACCUPLACER scores, and/or GED have been received by the KCKCC Registrar’s office before meeting with an advisor.

Current KCKCC Students

To make the most out of your advising appointment, arrive prepared with your questions, an understanding of your degree requirements, a copy of your degree audit (printed from WebAdvisor) and review the KCKCC Class Schedule before meeting with an advisor.

Create a short list of classes you plan to take if you are meeting for enrollment.

Transfer Students

If you have attempted coursework at another college, bring a copy of your prior college transcripts (unofficial copies are accepted only for first semester advising).

Submit official copies to the Registrar’s office (required before to your second semester at KCKCC.) Previous college transcripts must be reviewed by an advisor prior to enrollment so we may confirm completion of pre-requisite coursework.

If you have not already completed college-level math and English, complete the ACCUPLACER (or review exemptions) prior to enrollment.

Returning Students

If it has been more than 1 year since you attended KCKCC, please submit a new application for readmission. Schedule an advising appointment after you have been readmitted to the college. Bring any necessary transcripts if you have attended other colleges since your last semester at KCKCC.

If you were previously dismissed from KCKCC and are seeking Reinstatement, please read the conditions for reinstatement. Contact the advising office to obtain an Application for Reinstatement and schedule an appointment for Reinstatement Appeal.
