Kansas City Kansas Community College is hosting a thematic forum on global workforce development from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Dr. Thomas R. Burke Technical Education Center, 6565 State Ave. The forum is free for students with a valid student email address. The registration fee for non-students is $50.
Key among the forum’s objectives include enhancing career opportunities, strengthening industry-academia linkages as well as broadening networks. The event will feature a keynote panel of prominent industry leaders who will discuss workplace readiness skills.
The growing demand for a workforce that is equipped with robust global competencies and readiness for diverse challenges continues to be an issue that businesses are working to address. Crucial in bridging the skills gap that many industries face is providing international education that ensures graduates are not only ready to enter the workforce but also thrive in a multicultural and interconnected world.
Through KCKCC’s partnership with the Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA), students can speak with international education leaders, their counterparts around the world, organizations that promote international education and organizations concerned with the shaping and management of international higher education.
First formed in November 1982, AIEA is the only membership organization dedicated exclusively to senior leaders in the field of international education. AIEA members serve as leaders of higher education institutions and of organizations that support international higher education. AIEA equips leaders to shape the future of higher education in a global context.
