The University of Saint Mary has partnered with the Kansas City Kansas Community College Pioneer Career Center in Leavenworth to launch an innovative educational program designed to address the critical shortage of skilled professionals in the construction industry. Students can now earn valuable trade certificates from KCKCC while simultaneously working toward a bachelor of arts in liberal studies or a bachelor of science in interdisciplinary studies from USM.
The eligible KCKCC certificate programs include electrical technology, HVAC and construction technology. Enrollment is now open for a January 2025 start date.
“KCKCC is excited to partner with other universities like St. Mary’s to make certificates in trades more accessible,” said Kris Green, Vice President of Marketing and Institutional Image. “The need for a skilled workforce is growing exponentially, and KCKCC continues to seek innovative ways to expand skilled workers in the communities we serve.
