Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) women’s volleyball in addition to the men’s and women’s basketball teams will play home games on the road this season. Because the field house court is damaged, the entire wood floor will be replaced. The new floor installation is expected to be completed during the spring semester.
“While I am disappointed that the student-athletes will be displaced for another season, I believe the institution has made the best decision given the possible repair options,” said Greg McVey, director of athletics at KCKCC. “Once this project is completed, we will have one of the best indoor athletic facilities in the region. Over the past year, our institution has made a significant investment in the building including new video scoreboards, scorer tables and a state-of-the-art strength training facility. Good days lie ahead.”
The new Homefield facility in Kansas City, Kan. is the primary practice facility for the teams this year.
Johnson County Community College, William Jewell, Mid-America Nazarene and Rockhurst University are hosting volleyball games this season. Basketball games will once again be played at the Penn Valley campus of Metropolitan Community College and Rockhurst. Other schools could be added if additional availability is needed. The schedule for each team can be viewed on the website. Locations will be added as soon as they are available.
