The summer 2024 break brought two new faces to the KCKCC administrative team Lorraine Mixon-Page, SPHR, was named the new Chief Human Resources Officer and started July 1, bringing more than 30 years of experience in human resources management. Dr. Patrick Schulte was hired as the inaugural Vice President of Finance and Operations, starting July 31 at the college. He brings more than 20 years of leadership in finance and operations in public, private and community college settings.
At the University of Missouri-Columbia, Mixon-Page led the human resources function in the School of Medicine, which supports a faculty and staff of more than 2,500 and is associated with the MU Health System. She led the talent attraction and recruitment, employee relations, staff training and engagement functions. Previously in her career, she served as regional manager for the Hospital Corporation of America, which serves 4,500 hospitals and physician practices with more than 24,000 employees. She also led HR efforts in healthcare and municipal government.
Mixon-Page earned a Master of Arts in Personnel and Organizational Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Kansas. She has been a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), the credentialing service for HR professionals, since 1992.
“I am elated to join the team at Kansas City Kansas Community College,” she said. “I look forward to providing HR strategies which align with KCKCC’s objectives and aspirations while also fostering a culture where faculty, staff and students thrive.”
Schulte most recently served as Vice President of Finance at Donnelly College, where he was responsible for finance, administration, operations, risk management and campus safety. Previously, he served at Briar Cliff University in Iowa in the roles of Vice President of Finance, Executive Vice President and President. He earned his Doctor of Business Administration at St. Mary’s University and his MBA and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from St. Cloud State University.
The Finance and Operations Division at KCKCC is a new division for the college. It incorporates financial services, human resources, information technology and college police.
“As a first-generation college graduate and a product of public higher education, I have witnessed first-hand how access to education can change your world,” Schulte said. “KCKCC is changing lives and making a difference not only in the KC area but well beyond. I am excited to be a part of this and look forward to all that is ahead."
