Kansas City Kansas Community College is celebrating the National Day on Writing with an open mic session in October. The event is from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 20 in the Active Learning Classroom at the Learning Commons.
The National Day on Writing serves as a reminder of the enduring impact of the written word. The #whyiwrite tag originated in 2015 and has been shared millions of times by authors around the world. On this day, the Writing Center invites students, faculty and staff to celebrate both.
During the open mic session, participants will be invited to share their writing and discuss why they write in a space designed for reflection and community. Refreshments will also be served.
