KCKCC Theatre to Present “Twisted Tales of Poe”

Posted on Tuesday, October 06, 2020

The Kansas City Kansas Community College Theatre Department is preparing for its fall production, but it will look a bit different this year.

“Twisted Tales of Poe,” directed by Cinnamon Paulette, is at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8 to 10. There is also a matinee performance at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 11. The production has taken the current health situation in mind, with a set designed to allow physical distancing of the cast and crew. In addition, all cast and crew will wear face masks, and the play will be live streamed with no live in-person audience.

Because this method of presentation increases production costs, the KCKCC Theatre Department is requesting all KCKCC staff and faculty pay $2.50 per ticket, using a valid KCKCC email address. KCKCC students will still receive free admission, when using a KCKCC email address. All community tickets are $10. Each ticket will give attendees a unique viewing code that can be viewed by as many people that can view from one single device. If you wish to view on more than one device, an additional ticket will be needed. Tickets can be purchased online at www.kckcctheatre.com.

“Twisted Tales of Poe” is a radio drama play that features many of Poe’s classic stories. As in the days of radio, the story relies on the sound of the story telling. The play features an ensemble cast that includes - Christian Anderson, Venus Irias, Alena Riley, Zachery Garner, Jessie Twitchell and Joshua Twitchell and live sound effects by Kaitlyn Kreutzjans and Sam Anderson. Organ accompaniment will be provided by Mark Slimm.
