The Kansas City Kansas Community College Library is excited to announce that it has joined the KC-Towers cluster of the MOBIUS consortium.
This cluster contains 15 college and public libraries, many located in the Kansas City metropolitan area. More than 62 million items are available in the MOBIUS Union catalog that can be requested in print or digital formats, and items borrowed from member libraries will be delivered within days instead of weeks. In addition, KCKCC will now have access to the Open Education Network.
The KCKCC Library
The KCKCC Library offers academic research assistance. Books, reference materials and videos are available in both physical and digital formats. In the library, students will find computers, interlibrary loan services, anatomy models, the KCKCC Archives and other resources to support learning and leisure reading, including librarians to assist in research and information literacy. The library also hosts LibGuides, a web-based content management system to assist the campus community, including the option to live chat. The mission of the library is to enrich the academic community by providing exceptional resources and services.
About MOBIUS
MOBIUS began transforming library services in 1998 and is comprised of more than 75 Sierra libraries with 192 branches in Missouri, Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas, North Carolina, Arkansas and Texas. The consortium’s purpose is to share library materials, information and services using accessible, cost effective methods.
Open Education Network
Open Education Network is an alliance of hundreds of colleges, universities and consortia partners working together to advance the use of open textbooks in higher education. This provides textbooks for our students, when available, to help lower the cost of student debt.
