The Department of Military and Veteran Student Services (KCKCC Veterans Center) at Kansas City Kansas Community College is hosting a flag raising ceremony to remember the victims of the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

The event will take place at 10 a.m. Sept. 11 near the flags located in front of the Jewell building on the KCKCC Main Campus, 7250 State Ave.

Following the ceremony, the Veterans Center, Student Health Services and Wellness Center will co-host, a 30 minute Patriot walk on the KCKCC track. The KCKCC Student Veterans Organization will have a table near the track to hand out small flags to those who want them to carry on the walk or to place alongside the track in memory of those we lost.

In addition, the Veterans Center will host an Open House throughout the day, and everyone is invited to stop by for refreshments (while they last).
