One (1) scholarship available for the Fall and one (1) scholarship available for the Spring semester.

  • Applicant must be seeking a nursing degree or certificate as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Must be a Wyandotte or Leavenworth County resident
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 0 required
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

 

$1,000 per year

One (1) scholarship is awarded for the entire academic year (Fall and Spring semesters). 

  • Applicant must be of Asian race as identified on the KCKCC Application for Admission
  • Must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required
  • Recipient must attend and be recognized at the Asian American Chamber of Commerce Gala in May
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

$500 per semester

Fall and Spring semesters only.

  • Must be enrolled in a degree program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan 
  • Must be a KCKCC Student Athlete and confirmed by KCKCC Athletics Department Personnel 
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required 
  • Award may be used for tuition and fees

  • Must be enrolled in a Vocal or Instrumental Music Program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Must be a Wyandotte County high school graduate and a current Wyandotte County resident
  • Applicant may not hold a previous degree or certificate
  • Must have 80 or fewer college credit hours
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required
  • Must be enrolled full time (12 credit hours or more)
  • KCKCC Music/Performing Arts Department faculty recommendation letter required
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Fall and Spring semesters only

  • Must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Preference given to students in an Education program
  • Applicant must be a Wyandotte County resident
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 required
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

$500 per semester

Fall and Spring semesters only

  • Must be enrolled in a degree program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan, preference given to students with intention to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a baccalaureate degree in education
  • Must be a resident of Kansas City, Kansas and a graduate from KCKPS District 500
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 required
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

$1,500 per semester

Fall and Spring semesters only

  • Students must meet racial minority classifications as identified on the KCKCC Application for Admissions
  • Must be enrolled in at least 10 credit hours for the EMT program or 8 credit hours for the EMT-P program
  • Must be a Wyandotte County resident
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 5 required
  • Must pass the required program background check
  • Recipients will be selected by a committee comprised of local government officials or community members
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

One (1) scholarship per academic year to cover approved expenses (amount will vary)

Fall and Spring semesters only

  • Must be enrolled in a Music program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 required
  • Must be Kansas resident or military veteran
  • Recipient will be selected by KCKCC Music Department Committee

Maximum award amount is $1,000 per semester. Fall and Spring semesters only.  

  • Must be enrolled in a Nursing program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan 
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required 
  • Preference given to students with financial need 
  • Preference given to single or working parents
  • Award may be used for education expenses

  • Must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Applicant may not hold a previous degree or certificate
  • Must have 80 or fewer college credit hours
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 required
  • Award may be used for educational expenses
  • The Gibson Scholarship reimburses Mortuary Science students who successfully pass (on the first attempt) the National Mortuary Science Board Exam
  • Reimbursement is made directly to the student after verification is received from the KCKCC Mortuary Science Program Coordinator

Maximum award amount is $1,000 per semester

Fall and Spring semesters only

  • Must be active duty military, military dependent or veteran as indicated on the KCKCC Admissions Application (all documentation will be validated by the KCKCC Veterans Center)
  • Must be enrolled full-time (10-12 credit hours or more depending on degree plan)
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 required
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $750 per semester

Two (2) scholarships available for Fall and two (2) for Spring semesters

  • Must be enrolled in one of the following programs as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
    • KU/CC Nurse Partnership RN program or KCKCC RN program
    • Business
    • Accounting
  • Minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA required
  • Must be enrolled full time (12 credit hours or more)
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Additional scholarships of $500 per semester may be awarded based on available funding.

  • Must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Must have 80 or fewer college credit hours
  • Applicant may not hold a previous degree or certificate
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required
  • Must be enrolled full time (10-12 credit hours or more depending on degree plan)
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $1,000 per semester.

Two (2) scholarships available for Fall and two (2) for Spring semesters

  • Must be enrolled in the Nursing/RN program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Preference given to single mothers
  • Must be a Wyandotte County resident
  • Must be enrolled full time (10 credit hours or more for nursing students)
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 required
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $500 per semester. One (1) scholarship available in Fall and one (1) in Spring semesters. 

  • Must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan 
  • Must be enrolled full time (10-12 credit hours or more depending on degree plan) 
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required 
  • Must be a non-US citizen and not eligible for federal loans or other monies based upon citizenship 
  • Applicant will be selected by the donor

  • Must be enrolled in a STEM related degree or certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan 
  • Preference given to female students who are people of color as identified on KCKCC Admissions Application 
  • Preference given to Wyandotte County residents 
  • Recipient must be a Kansas resident 
  • Must be enrolled full time (10-12 credit hours or more depending on degree plan) 
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required

  • Must be enrolled in Auto Mechanics or HVAC certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan

$1,500 per semester

Fall and Spring semesters only

  • Must be enrolled in a nursing degree or certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Must be Bonner Springs, Kansas resident
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required
  • Award may be used for educational expense

Maximum award amount is $1,250 per semester.

Two (2) awards per semester – one (1) for students seeking a technical education certificate and one (1) award for degree seeking students

  • Must be a Wyandotte County resident or have graduated from a Wyandotte County high school
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 0 required
  • Renewable if established criteria are met
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $500.

One (1) scholarship for Fall semester only

  • Applicants with a passion for creative writing and/or English and enrolled an Arts, Humanities or Social Sciences program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • No minimum GPA required
  • Recipient will be invited and encouraged to participate in the annual Riverfront Open Mic Fundraising Event
  • Recipient will be selected by family of Philip Miller or their designee
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $500 per semester

Fall and Spring semesters only

  • Preference given to second year nursing students seeking a CNA or LPN certificate as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Preference given to Wyandotte or Leavenworth County residents
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 0 required
  • Must be enrolled full time (10 credit hours or more for nursing students)
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

$500 per semester

Fall and Spring semesters only

  • Must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $500 per semester

One (1) scholarship for Fall and one (1) scholarship for Spring semesters.

  • Must be enrolled in the Addiction Counselor degree program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Preference given to a student who has experienced incarceration and/or in recovery
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 required
  • Faculty recommendation letter required
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $500 per semester.

Summer, Fall and Spring semesters available.

  • Must be enrolled in one of the following technical certificates as determined by a KCKCC degree plan:
  • Auto Technology
  • Electrical Technology
  • HVAC
  • Machine Technology
  • Major Appliance Technology
  • Welding
  • Applicants must be entering 2nd or 3rd semester of coursework
  • Applicants must be a Wyandotte County or Leavenworth County resident
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 required
  • Essay must indicate career aspirations and the importance of ethics in business
  • KCKCC Technical Education faculty recommendation letter required
  • Recipient will be selected by donor
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $500 per semester.

Summer, Fall, and Spring semesters available.

  • Applicants in all technical education certificate programs are eligible for this funding
  • KCKCC Technical Education faculty recommendation letter required
  • Award may be used for educational expenses
  • Director of Continuing Education will determine recipients. Funds may be used for Blue101 course or GED section tests.

Maximum award amount is $1,000

Award is for two (2) consecutive semesters and two academic years ($450 in the second (2nd) semester and $450 in the third (3rd) semester and $100 upon completion of the program), nursing students enrolled in the first semester of coursework are eligible to apply

  • Applicant must be accepted in the KU/CC Nurse Partnership Program and confirmed by KCKCC Director of Nursing
  • Must be enrolled full time (10 credit hours or more for nursing students)
  • Admission GPA of 0 required and 2.75 GPA the semester before the final disbursement
  • KCKCC Nursing faculty recommendation letter required
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $500

Fall and Spring semesters only

  • Must be enrolled in the Respiratory Therapy program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required
  • KCKCC Respiratory Therapy Advisory Committee will select recipient
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $500

One (1) scholarship available for Fall and one (1) for Spring semesters

  • Preference given students of Hispanic ethnicity as identified on the KCKCC Application for Admission
  • Preference given to graduates of Wyandotte County high schools or Kansas City Metro high schools
  • Must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 required
  • Must be enrolled full time (10-12 credit hours or more depending on degree plan)
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $1,500 - $1,800 per semester.

Summer, Fall and Spring semesters 

  • Must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan 
  • Applicant may not hold a previous degree or certificate 
  • Must have 80 or fewer college credit hours 
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0required  
  • Must be enrolled fulltime (10-12 credit hours depending on program) 
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

  • Must be enrolled in an Associates in Applied Science degree or a certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Must be a Wyandotte County resident
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 required
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $500 per semester.

One (1) scholarship available for Fall and one (1) for Spring semesters

  • Must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan

Fall and Spring semesters only

  • Must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Preference given to students enrolled in a Nursing, Police Science, or Fire Technology program
  • Must be a current Wyandotte or Leavenworth County resident
  • Must be enrolled full time unless applicant is a working parent or full time employed student
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 preferred
  • KCKCC Faculty recommendation letter required if GPA is below 3.2
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $5,000

Maximum award is $5,000 for two consecutive semesters ($2,500 for Fall and $2,500 for Spring).

  • Must be enrolled in a Nursing program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan 
  • Must be a Greater Kansas City Area resident (includes Jackson, Clay and Platte Counties in Missouri and Johnson, Wyandotte and Douglas Counties in Kansas) 
  • Preference given to female and minority students 
  • Recipient will be selected by the KCKCC Dean of Health Professions 
  • Award may be used for tuition, NCLEX Fees, housing, meals, books and supplies 

Maximum award amount is $1,500

Fall and Spring semesters only

  • Must be enrolled in a Computer Information Science or Mathematics program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Preference given to first generation college student
  • Applicant may not hold a previous degree or certificate
  • Must have 80 or fewer college credit hours
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 5 required
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

  • Preference given to women and minority students

  • Must be enrolled in the Pre-Veterinary Medicine program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Applicant may not hold a previous degree or certificate
  • Must have 80 or fewer college credit hours
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required
  • Must be enrolled full time (12 credit hours or more)
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $1,000

Fall and Spring semesters only

  • Must be enrolled in a mathematics intensive degree/certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan, as follows:
  • Certificate Programs: Machine Technology or Electrical Technology
  • Associate in Applied Science: Drafting Technology
  • Associate in Arts: Secondary Education
  • Associate in Science: Environmental Studies, Business, Chemistry, Computer Engineering Technology, Physics, or Engineering
  • Associate in General Studies: Environmental Studies, Chemistry, Computer Engineering Technology, Forensic Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering
  • Applicant may not hold a previous degree or certificate
  • Must have 80 or fewer college credit hours
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

One (1) scholarship available for Fall

  • Must be enrolled in Music, Theatre or Audio Engineering Program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Must be a Kansas or Missouri resident
  • Must be enrolled full time (12 credit hours or more)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 required
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $500 per semester

One (1) scholarship available for Fall and one (1) for Spring semesters

  • Must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan, as follows:
    • Biology
    • Chemistry
    • Computers
    • Engineering
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
  • Female students in the first or second (freshman) semesters at KCKCC and have no credits from other colleges (except dual/concurrent coursework)
  • Must be Kansas resident
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 required
  • Must be enrolled full time (12 semester hours)
  • Award may be used to pay tuition only

Maximum award amount is $1,000 per semester

Two (2) scholarships available for Fall and two (2) for Spring semesters

  • Must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Preference given to students in an education program
  • Must be a Kansas resident, preference given to Wyandotte County residents
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required
  • Must be enrolled full time (10-12 credit hours or more depending on degree plan)
  • Recipient must be willing to attend and be recognized at the WYCARSP meeting in May
  • Recipients will be selected by Wyandotte County Association of Retired School Personnel representatives
  • Award may be used for educational expenses

Maximum award amount is $850 per semester

Fall and Spring semesters only

  • Must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program as determined by a KCKCC degree plan
  • Must be a Wyandotte High School Graduate
  • Applicant may not hold a previous degree or certificate
  • Must have 80 or fewer college credit hours
  • High School applicants (entering KCKCC Freshmen) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 from Wyandotte High School
  • Currently enrolled KCKCC students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Award may be used for educational expense

Maximum award amount is $500 per semester
