About the Summit

The Kansas City Jazz Summit provides an educational performance opportunity for middle school, high school and college jazz bands, combos, and vocal jazz ensembles. This annual jazz festival takes place Tuesday through Friday during the last week of April in the Performing Arts Center at Kansas City Kansas Community College. Tuesday typically consists of vocal ensembles, while Wednesday and Friday features big bands and combos. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday are non-competitive, with the focus being on allowing groups to showcase their own unique style and personality while receiving both written comments and onstage clinics from master performers and educators.
