F-1 SEVIS Transfer Student Checklist

Application Deadline

  1. Fall Semester – August 1 | Classes begin in August
  2. Spring Semester – December 1 | Classes begin in January

Important Information

International students are not eligible for admission to the Summer Semester.

International students are not eligible for admission to the Second 8-Week Term of the Fall or Spring Semesters.

  • All application requirements must be submitted prior to the deadlines listed above.
  • Application deadlines are the last possible day to submit a complete application packet.
  • Deadlines are not flexible or negotiable.
    • Incomplete applications will not be reviewed or considered.

Application Requirements

Step 1: Fill Out Application

Fill out online application.

Step 2: Pay Application Fee

The application fee is $85.

  • Payable directly to KCKCC’s Business Office via telephone at 1-913-288-7620 using your credit/debit/bank card
    • Application and document review and processing will NOT begin until AFTER the $85.00 application fee has been paid

Step 3: Submit Transcripts

SEVIS Transfer applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 (or higher) in order to be considered for admission to KCKCC

Step 4: Submit Graduation / Exam Certificate

In the native language and accompanied by an official English translation.

Applicants from:

  • Gambia
  • Ghana
  • Liberia
  • Nigeria
  • Sierra Leone

Official West African Secondary School Certificate Examination results (WASSCE) MUST be submitted DIRECTLY FROM the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) directly to Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Official Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Statement Examination Results MUST be submitted DIRECTLY FROM the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) directly to Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Step 5: Submit Official English Language Test Scores

Official TOEFL Scores must be submitted directly from ETS (Educational Testing Service) to Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Step 6: Submit Proof of Financial Support

Room - $5,000.00
Board - $4,250.00
Personal Expenses - $5,000.00

Step 7: Submit Immigration Documents

Submit color copies of passport, F-1 visa, and most recent Form I-20s from all previously attended schools in the U.S.

Step 8: Submit a Color Print-out of I-94 Admission Record

You may retrieve your I-94 Admission Record online at https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94; click on the GET MOST RECENT I-94 link at the top of the page to begin the retrieval process.

Approval for Study / Site of Instruction

Approval by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is required for each program of study and site of instruction in order for the program to enroll international students.

Currently, KCKCC is NOT able to issue Forms I-20 for the following programs:

  • Cosmetology
  • Computer Support Specialist
  • Electrical Technology
  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
  • Heating and Refrigeration
  • Machine Technology
  • Major Appliance Repair
  • Multimedia Video Production
  • Networking Technology
  • Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Welding Technology

Applicant Notes

  • All application materials and documents submitted for admission to Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) become the property of KCKCC; these materials and documents cannot be returned to the applicant.
  • Application requirements cannot be waived.
  • Submission of altered, falsified, or fraudulent application information and/or documents will result in the immediate DENIAL of admission.
