The Practical Nursing Program is committed to providing a student-learning environment that encourages and assesses critical thinking, clinical competence, professional accountability, and effective communication skills.  We believe these attributes will prepare our graduates to pass the NCLEX-PN, and utilize the nursing process to identify basic needs of the client, provide safe and skillful therapeutic care in simple nursing situations while collaborating with members of the multidisciplinary health care team.

The Program is designed to prepare students to function as entry-level practical nurses.  Course work is directed toward assisting graduates to pass the National Council of Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses. The program is approved by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. Students must complete the program requirements with a grade of C or better to be eligible to take the PN licensure exam.
