The Firefighter certificate is offered as a catalyst for students who seek employment with a fire department. This provides the student with four basic courses required by the fire service industry. Upon completion of this certificate, students are eligible to sit for state certification and licensure.
The fire science program provides all necessary equipment for students to successfully train for and pass the State of Kansas Fire Service certifications.
Students must be 18 years of age and successfully pass the Interior Firefighter Training provided by the fire science program to qualify to take the State of Kansas Firefighter I certification tests.
