The EMS certificate program provides the foundational education for students whose primary focus is a career in EMS. This certificate program is ideal for firefighters, law enforcement personnel, athletic trainers, emergency response team members in the industrial setting, and emergency management personnel.
Students will develop Basic Life Support skills proficiency, learn to work within a team environment, develop effective communication skills across a diverse set of situations and cultures, and develop effective analytical and critical thinking skills to make appropriate decisions in critical and non-critical situations. Upon successful completion of the certificate, students will be eligible to sit for the National Registry and State of Kansas certification exam.

Requirements for admission to the program:
  • Accuplacer score of 243 or above in reading comprehension.
  • Contact program for program-specific advising.
