The mission of the Engineering Program is to produce two-year graduates with the breadth and depth of knowledge in engineering to become lifelong productive members of the regional workforce and the local society. The main goal of the Pre-Engineering program is to prepare students to successfully complete an engineering degree program at an institution of their choice. The faculty members serve as advisors to students who plan to study engineering. Students who complete the two-year program may enter most engineering schools as juniors.
The pre-engineering program provides courses in computer drafting, computer programming, and all the English, mathematics, and science courses generally required in the first two years of an engineering curriculum. When students complete the pre-engineering program, they may transfer to a college of engineering at another university.
Note: Students should seek advisement from a counselor/advisor about how requirements vary in the different fields of engineering.
