The mission of the Pre-Clinical Laboratory Science program is to graduate competent and ethical clinical laboratory professionals with the knowledge and the skills for career entry. It is also the program mission to prepare graduates for leadership roles in the clinical laboratory and professional organizations and to instill an understanding of the need for maintaining continuing competency in a rapidly changing and dynamic profession. The Clinical Laboratory Science program has a strong commitment to the career ladder approach to higher education. With Career Ladder programs, the students can transfer to universities to enroll in the Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science. The AAS graduates who wish to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science may “career ladder” without loss of credit.

Note: To be considered for admissions to the clinical laboratory science program at the University of Kansas Medical Center, students must have an overall grade-point average of 2.00 and a grade-point average of 2.30 in chemistry, biology, and microbiology.
