The theatre technology program develops the knowledge and skills necessary for students to embark on careers as professional stage hands, stage carpenters, and stage electricians. Emphasis in this specialized program is on production. Many hours are required in the operation on the theatre plant, and the construction of scenery for theatrical events. Students who follow the program are assured technical opportunities in lighting, sound, set construction, and/or stage management each semester during the two-year program.
A limited number of performance grants are available to qualified students. Individuals with previous experience in theatrical performance and/or technical production should apply directly to the coordinator at 913-288-7305
