5.60 - Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan

Introduction
This plan provides information relevant to the safety and protection from bloodborne pathogens particularly viral agents such as Hepatitis B, (HBV) and C Virus‘s (HCV) and the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) at Kansas City Kansas Community College. The plan directly addresses requirements from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, (OSHA) document, 29 CFR Part 1910.64182. A copy of the OSHA document is available at the Human Resources Department, and in each Division Office. The KCKCC Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plans is required reading for all employees who have an occupational risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens. All at risk employees are required to read the exposure control plan and the pages referenced in the document. Following the review of the documents and other educational materials the employee will be asked to sign an Acknowledgment of Training form to provide documentation that they have read the plan. This plan is arbitrarily divided into several sections, and may overlap on occasion.
