Let's Talk

Urgent Concerns

Let’s Talk is not for urgent concerns.

If students are in crisis or need immediate support, contact the Counseling and Advocacy Center at 913-288-7640.

Students can receive crisis care during office hours, after hours, weekends/holidays or whenever KCKCC is closed.

What is Let's Talk?

Let’s Talk allows KCKCC students to check in via telehealth for an informal and confidential individual consultation with a KCKCC counselor. Counselors can listen to a specific problem, provide insight, support and introduce students to what it’s like to speak to a counselor. The brief confidential consultations are available through an online meeting.

Not a Substitute for Formal Counseling

Although Let’s Talk counselors are professionals, Let’s Talk is not a substitute for psychotherapy and doesn’t constitute mental health treatment. Let’s Talk counselors determine whether formal counseling would be useful, and if appropriate, connect the student with KCKCC Counseling and Advocacy Center (CAC).

Eligibility

Let’s Talk is available for all KCKCC students currently enrolled regardless of location (out of state and students studying abroad can use Let’s Talk).
