With less than one year to completion, the KCK Community Education, Health and Wellness Center reached an important milestone Aug. 8 with the raising and placement of the final beam, which was completed at a Topping Out ceremony.

In attendance were Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly, KCKCC President Dr. Greg Mosier, KCK Mayor Tyrone Garner, CommunityAmerica Credit Union CEO Lisa Ginter, Swope Health Chief Health Officer Dr. Naiomi Jamal, Chris Martin, with McCownGordon Construction and Jason Osterhaus, with Senator Jerry Moran's office, among many others.

This powerful collaboration between KCKCC, Swope Health and CommunityAmerica Credit Union, with support from Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools and the Unified Government of Wyandotte County, broke ground in September 2023. It is expected to be completed in summer 2026.

The goal of this state of the art facility in the heart of KCK's urban core is to create opportunities for those in KCK and Wyandotte County. The facility has been strategically designed to meet the holistic needs of those in eastern Wyandotte County communities with plans to offer health, wellness and education services — all under one roof.
