High School Partnerships

High School Partnerships

KCKCC High School Partnerships offers a student-centered program that allows 10th–12th grade students to expand their curriculum by taking college-level courses or completing a program through the Career and Technical Education division.

Students can earn both a high school diploma and a KCKCC certificate or associate degree. Courses are available:

  • At their high school
  • Online
  • At KCKCC’s three locations: main campus, Technical Education Center, or the Pioneer Career Center in Leavenworth, KS

Classes are taught by adjunct professors (dual instructors), approved high school teachers (concurrent instructors), or skilled technical educators during the school day.

KCKCC partners with local secondary schools to promote college persistence and career readiness through these flexible, affordable academic opportunities.

Save on College Costs and Time

Completing college classes while in high school saves time and money! High school student tuition can be free or partially paid by their high school. KCKCC offers its lowest tuition rate to area high school students, with a tuition and technology fee of $87 per credit hour. Check with the high school counselor to determine what costs are covered by the high school.

Taking college classes while still in high school allows students to save time by earning a degree or certificate alongside their diploma. Earning a technical degree or certificate can lead to a higher-paying job after graduation. Or, students can complete a college degree more quickly after graduating from high school.

Prepare for Future Success

Students who take college classes in high school discover many benefits:

  • Explore their passions and get a jumpstart on their career goals.
  • Figure out if college is the right choice for them.
  • Decrease the amount of time — and cost — to earn a degree/certification.
  • Develop greater responsibility, refine their study habits and improve their time management skills.
  • Prepare for challenges of adjusting to college life.
  • Build confidence in a supportive environment.
