The ESOL program at KCKCC is committed to helping students improve their English language skills to meet their personal and professional goals.
ESOL classes are designed primarily for students who want to improve their English skills for studying at a college or university. Students need a high school diploma (from the U.S. or another country) or a GED to begin taking ESOL classes. Click here to learn about English classes that do not require a high school diploma. Many ESOL students will begin an academic program at KCKCC when they have completed ESOL classes. Students in advanced-level ESOL classes may also take college classes during the same semester. Other students attend ESOL classes to strengthen their English skills for personal or professional reasons.
Please Note: F1 Visa International Students are not eligible to take ESOL classes.
Mission
The mission of the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program is to prepare non-native English-speaking students for academic coursework and professional careers by providing English language instruction in a supportive environment. Instruction focuses on developing communicative skills that empower students in their academic, professional and personal lives.
