Career services is thrilled to partner with faculty and staff to offer career development presentations, workshops, assignments, events or other assistance for students and graduates. Together we make the student's experience better!

Faculty Resource Toolkit

The faculty resource toolkit includes career development related videos, handouts/guides, presentations, activities, assignment ideas, assessment info and other resources to help bring career development to students. All full-time and adjunct faculty have access to the toolkit.

Class Presentations

Career services can visit classes or groups to present on any topics related to helping students reach their career goals, such as:

  • Introduction to KCKCC Career Services
  • Career exploration and planning
  • Resume and cover letter development
  • Interview preparation
  • Career fair prep and employer networking tips
  • How to use Handshake, LinkedIn, and other career platforms
  • Job and internship searching
  • Other ways to gain experience
  • Salary negotiation
  • Professional skills for career success after being hired
  • Other topics as requested

Class Assignments

Career services is the partner for career development assignments such as resume/cover letter development, mock interviews, career exploration or others.

Employer Presentations, Outreach and Events

Looking to connect with specific employers for students or grow an advisory board? Career services can help faculty/staff connect with employers to discover job and internship opportunities for various programs. Requests can also be made to have employers visit classes, attend career fairs or partner in other ways.

Student Organizations and Clubs

Career services can provide tailored presentations, workshops or employer connections for student organizations.

Work Study/Student Employment

All work study positions are posted on Handshake for students to apply. Email career services to have work study positions posted, to receive assistance with creating or revising position descriptions or with questions about the work study process.
