Construction is moving forward on the new Kansas City Kansas Community Education, Health and Wellness Center, scheduled for completion in spring 2026.
The center has become a national model for nonprofit collaboration, uniting KCKCC, CommunityAmerica Credit Union, Swope Health and KCK Public Schools to address the holistic needs of the Kansas City, Kansas urban core and help break the cycle of poverty. Thanks to widespread support from national, state and local government in addition to private donors, the project has raised $67,284,470 in cash, pledges and in-kind gifts, which is 90% of the $75 million estimated cost.
KCKCC will offer general education, GED and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes on site, and the center will house the Automation Engineer Technology, Commercial Construction, Administrative Office Professional and Biomanufacturing programs. In addition, 11th and 12th graders attending KCK Public Schools, can attend KCKCC and receive their high school diploma and associate of applied science degree in Commercial Construction Technology simultaneously. KCKCC will triple current enrollment in Commercial Construction Technology and Automation Engineer Technology alone, tripling student capacity in these programs.
The center is expected to be open in time for the fall 2026 semester.
