Dr. Devin Stroman was drawn to KCKCC because of its strong mission to serve students and the community with integrity and innovation.
“Community colleges hold a unique and vital place in higher education, and I see KCKCC as an institution that not only provides opportunity, but also transforms lives,” said Stroman, who is KCKCC’s new vice president of enrollment management and student services. “I can make a positive impact by ensuring students feel supported at every step of their journey, from inquiry to graduation.”
Stroman brings a wealth of knowledge in the areas of enrollment management and student affairs, most recently serving as assistant vice president of student affairs at Eastern New Mexico University – Roswell. Prior to that, at ENMU, Stroman served as the director of the One-Stop Student Success Center where he oversaw all functions of student affairs, providing leadership in academic advising, admissions and records, adult education, enrollment management and more. He has a bachelor of arts in elementary education and a master of arts in educational leadership from Western New Mexico University and a doctor of educational leadership from Liberty University.
“My experience in enrollment management and student affairs has taught me the value of clear communication, efficient processes and building a sense of belonging. Whether that means improving advising systems, developing data-driven enrollment strategies or creating initiatives that enhance student engagement, my focus is always on removing barriers and helping students persist,” he said. “I believe in building strong relationships, listening to student voices and using that input to create meaningful change that enhances their overall experience at KCKCC.”
Stroman said he believes community colleges, like KCKCC, are critical because they provide “accessible, affordable and high-quality education to diverse populations of learners.”
“They serve as gateways to opportunity—helping students transfer to four-year institutions, gain workforce credentials or develop skills that enrich their lives,” he said. “Beyond academics, community colleges like KCKCC serve as cultural and economic hubs, strengthening communities by preparing a skilled workforce and promoting inclusivity. I believe community colleges truly embody the mission of higher education: to transform lives and communities through learning and service.”
