After six years of planning and fundraising, the first concrete has been poured for the Kansas City Kansas Community Education, Health and Wellness Center. The center is strategically designed to meet the holistic needs of the downtown Kansas City, Kansas community and eastern Wyandotte County and will offer health, wellness and education services that can elevate the community. It is expected to be completed in summer 2026.
KCKCC, Swope Health and CommunityAmerica Credit Union are partnering on this facility, which broke ground in September 2023. Other key partners include KCK Public Schools and the Unified Government of Wyandotte County (UG). The center will offer programs and services desperately needed to create a self-sustaining economic solution for the community that will help end many social and economic inequities that have prevailed downtown for decades. The center is a national model for nonprofit collaboration across the country. Learn more about this transformational project here.
