Once again, KCKCC will be offering free tax services to low income and senior citizens.
Free income tax preparation will be available through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) for taxpayers who earn less than $67,000 on the KCKCC Main Campus. Appointments are available from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays (except March 19) and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays (except March 22) in Room 3632 in the Flint Building. Appointments are also available from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays, though hours may be reduced or eliminated after March 8 depending on demand. This service is by appointment only by calling 866-320-5764 or by scheduling on the website.
Tax preparations provided through AARP have relocated to the Dr. Thomas R. Burke Technical Education Center, 6565 State Ave. Walk-in appointments are available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and Thursdays. Taxpayers should arrive early to put their name on a list. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides tax assistance to anyone, free of charge, with a focus on taxpayers who are over 50 and have low to moderate income. You don't need to be an AARP member to use the service. Find more information about the service on the website.
