The program is committed to providing comprehensive hands-on training that prepares students to make a positive impact in the classrooms and communities they serve. The program guides students in the subject matter neccessary to become knowledgeable educators and excel in diverse educational settings through a dynamic student-focused teacher education program. Beyond the classroom, students will experience a range of professional development opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of teacher education such as workshops and symposiums, collaborative projects and networking with four-year institutions.
Career Paths
There are several options for students after completing their associate degree in secondary education. Students can enter the workforce as a substitute teacher, teacher assistant, paraeducator and a tutor.
Graduates can also move onto a four-year institution where they can earn a teacher licensure.
