In KCKCC's Practical Nursing (PN) program, students learn basic nursing skills, patient care, anatomy, pharmacology, and practical clinical techniques to support registered nurses and physicians in various healthcare settings. The program also sharpens students’ deductive reasoning, service orientation, and decision-making abilities.
Career Paths
Upon passing the NCLEX-PN® and becoming licensed, graduates can work as a practical nurse in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, home healthcare, or rehabilitation centers. Graduates can pursue further education to become a registered nurse through KCKCC’s articulation program or specialize in areas like pediatrics, geriatrics or surgical nursing to expand their career opportunities and earning potential.
Possible career paths include charge nurse, clinic LPN, clinic nurse, home health LPN, Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), office nurse, pediatric LPN, private duty nurse, radiation oncology nurse, and triage LPN.
