Degree and Certificate Options
Paramedic, A.A.S.
What Will I Learn?
The goal of the Kansas City Kansas Community College Paramedic program is to prepare entry-level paramedics with the knowledge, skills and behaviors required in the field. Students will learn how to incorporate these qualities to provide effective, compassionate medical care to sick and injured patients and serve as the leader of the emergency medical response team.
The program prepares students to pass the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and earn certification as a Paramedic.
Career Paths
Upon passing the NREMT and earning certification, graduates can enter the workforce as paramedics, firefighters, flight paramedics, and critical care paramedics. Graduates can pursue further education to become a registered nurse through KCKCC’s articulation program.
