What Will I Learn?
This High Voltage Line Technician program is designed to prepare students to enter apprenticeship training programs across Kansas. The program provides solid technical skills and knowledge to climb poles safely, proper use to operate equipment and tools, develop effective communication skills, and understand electrical theory related to electrical distribution systems.
This program is well suited for students with an interest in figuring out what is causing equipment, machines, wiring, or computer programs to not work; using rules to solve problems; and making general rules or coming up with answers from lots of detailed information.
Career Paths
This program prepares students to enter manufacturing, construction and industry trades as electrical lineman, power lineman technician, lineworker, electrical and power transmission installers, electricians, telecommunications line installers and repairers.
