Economics provides analytical tools to understand the evolution of productive systems and helps to analyze how markets and business function, the role of monetary systems and the decision-making processes of firms, governments, consumers and organizations. Those who have excellent problem-solving skills and have the capacity for comprehending and producing logical arguments may want to pursue this degree.
Career Paths
The associate of arts in economics degree provides students with the basic knowledge to pursue a bachelor’s degree in the field. Graduates may use their degree to certify basic knowledge about markets, mechanisms of social provisioning and analytical and critical thinking skills. Economics majors often continue with a master’s and a Ph.D. in economics.
