Digital Imaging Design, A.A.S.
What Will I Learn?
Creative students with a passion for art, communication and technology may want to pursue this degree. Students will gain technical skills and use design-industry standard hardware and software to learn layout design, multimedia and web design, typography, color theory and illustration and will have the opportunity to create a comprehensive design portfolio that showcases a range of creative and technical skills.
In addition, the program's Graphic Design Studio (Mac Computer Lab) features the latest technology and studio time is built into many of our classes. The lab is available to students during open campus hours to develop and perfect drawing and digital design skills. Digital drawing tablets, iPads, iMacs, Apple pens, printers, scanner and printing supplies are also available to students at KCKCC’s main campus.
Career Paths
After completing a degree in digital imaging design, graduates are prepared for many entry-level careers in technical fields such as graphic design, typesetting, multimedia design, art direction and production, printing and sign-making, digital marketing/advertising and more.
Graduates may also transfer to a four-year program to continue their education in graphic design, web design, UX/UI design, multimedia, visual communication or other digital art-related fields.
Points of Pride
Digital imaging design offers an affordable and accessible program to creative students who are looking to pursue a career in many high demand fields. It has small classes with experts in the field and individualized instruction while providing the necessary hardware and software needed at no added to cost to the student. Visual Art Performance Grants are also available.
