Computer Support Specialist Certificates
What Will I Learn?
The computer support specialist program will teach students how to identify different types of PC hardware and peripherals; evaluate operating systems, application programs and hardware; demonstrate troubleshooting and repairing personal computers and demonstrate appropriate customer skills when interacting with customers.
CompTIA A+ supports core technologies from security to networking to virtualization and more. It validates that certified professionals have the skills required to support today’s digital world. Those with an analytical mind who strive to learn new technologies quickly and have good time management skills may want to consider the computer support specialist program.
Career Paths
Students will be prepared for the CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ industry certifications upon successful completion of the program. Careers for CompTIA A+ certified personnel include field technician, tier I support specialist, desktop support specialist, associate network engineer, systems support technician, junior systems administrator, service desk analyst, technical support specialist, field service technician, data support technician, desktop support administrator, end-user computing technician, help desk technician and system support specialist. Careers for Network+ Certified personnel include network administrator, IT consultant, computer technician, help desk technician, system engineer, network support specialist and network analyst.
Points of Pride
Students have access to courseware for one year. With every update to the certifications, the courseware is automatically updated to reflect the new standards. Students who complete Certificate A will receive vouchers for the CompTIA A+ certification exam (two vouchers - one for each Core of the A+ certification). Students who complete Certificate B will receive a voucher for the Network+ certification exam.
