What Will I Learn?

Students have the ability to service residential air conditioning and furnace units, provide electrical repairs and maintenance, provide plumbing repairs and maintenance, install and finish sheetrock, apply finishes (painting), install windows, doors and stairs, enhance carpentry skills and obtain several industry recognized certifications.

There are three certificates available:

  • Certificate A: Designed for those who wish to gain skills and immediately go into the workforce.
  • Certificate B: Designed for those who want to complete the full program.
  • Certificate C: Designed for those who want additional education with electives such as solar, estimating and advanced plumbing.

High school juniors can also enter the program and earn a certificate by the time they graduate high school. Additionally, they have up to 50 college credits that can go toward an associate degree.

Career Paths

This program prepares students for entry-level maintenance positions and many other trade positions such as landscaping, plumbing, electrical and carpentry. Students can pursue careers paths such as building mechanic, equipment engineering technician, facilities technician, maintenance engineer, construction worker or site work laborer.
